Soul II Soul legend Jazzie B is headlining a day of leading national and regional acts at Woodbridge Festival of Art and Music.

Woodbridge’s sustainable music and art festival comes Back to Life in Elmhurst Park on Saturday 4 September.
One of the leading pioneers of British black music, Grammy winning Jazzie B's classic Soul II Soul tracks, Keep On Movin' and Back To Life, propelled him into the mainstream, with a groundbreaking fusion of London's sound system culture, with hip-hop, house and soul.
Also playing in the park are; Ibizan Balearic legend DJ Chris Coco, chart topping UK House pioneer Rocky (X Press2), soulful songstress Aruba Red (daughter of legendary bass player Jack Bruce of supergroup Cream), Nu-Disco trail blazer Simon Lee/ Faze Action, up-and-coming Czech singer Maella and DJ, writer and festival programer Ben Osborne of Noise of Art.
Amongst the leading regional acts are Daddy Turbo, veteran of Ipswich sound systems and BBC Radio Suffolk’s Ebony Eye, Manningtree’s BBC 6Music favourite Kevin Pearce, and Lowestoft’s homegrown Basement Jaxx collaborator, and 2021 US and UK dance chart topper, Nathan X.
Woodbridge community choir Pop Chorus follow festival appearances at First Light and Latitude with not to be missed melodic versions of contemporary songs to start the day. Rock-a-billy rabble rousers, J.S & The Lockerbillys, will also be appearing alongside DJs Smoothgroove, of Ipswich Community radio, popular funk and soul DJ Daniel Lee Harvey and respected North London selector Litmus and more to be announced.
The sustainable festival will have family eco events with Forest School craft and bushcraft sessions, Wild Beach Workshops/Sessions with the Suffolk WildlifeTrust and Forest Schools Toy Workshop sessions.
There will be bars, the local producers Food Street, featuring some of the region’s popular eateries, a word/ literature area, poetry trail, kids zone, arts streams and workshops - with more to be announced.
The festival is not for profit, has accessible ticket pricing, and all proceeds go to support its charitable aims, including music and environmental education in local schools and the community.
Doors open at 12 Midday and the event runs into the evening, with the headline acts appearing throughout the afternoon from 12 onwards. Arrive early and make a day of it.
